Delete Your Account

This page explains how to request deletion of your Cookember (“Cookember,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) account and what happens to your data when you do. Cookember is a mobile app available on the App Store and Google Play.

Delete your account from within the app

You can permanently delete your account at any time, directly in the app:

  1. Open the Cookember app and make sure you are signed in.
  2. Go to your Profile tab.
  3. Open Settings.
  4. Tap Delete Account.
  5. On the confirmation screen, tap Yes, Delete Forever.

Deletion takes effect immediately and cannot be undone. Once confirmed, your account cannot be recovered.

What is deleted

When you delete your account, we permanently remove:

  • Your account and personal data — including the name and email address associated with your Google or Apple sign-in.
  • Your private recipes and drafts — any recipe you have not made public, along with their generated images.
  • Recipes you previously removed — and their generated images.
  • Your saved, liked, and preference data associated with the account.

If you signed in with Apple, the corresponding Apple sign-in token is also revoked as part of deletion.

What is kept

  • Recipes you chose to make public remain available in the Cookember community feed, but they are de-identified — they are detached from your account and no longer linked to your name or identity. This lets other users continue to enjoy recipes shared with the community.
  • We may retain limited records where required to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, or prevent abuse, as described in our Privacy Policy.

If you would like your public recipes removed as well, delete them in the app before deleting your account, or contact us at the address below and we will help.

Subscriptions

Deleting your Cookember account does not automatically cancel a paid subscription. Subscriptions are billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play and must be cancelled in your App Store or Google Play account settings.
